Bari Lamai opens in Rayong
Boutique all-villa resort on Rayong’s Suan Son Beach is targeting upscale guests with rates starting at Bt4,500.
A new boutique hotel on Suan Son Beach in Rayong, Bari Lamai Resort, will hold its grand opening this May
after its soft launch last October, which received good feedback. Rates start at Bt4,500++ per night.
Bari Lamai Resort managing director, Piroon Supanantkul, said: “Our resort is located on Suan Son Beach in the city with a view of Samet Island from the front. We plan to hold our grand opening this May after the soft launch last October received good feedback.”
He said the resort is targeting B+ level Bangkokian Thais and expatriates as Rayong is not too far away. During the weekdays, it will focus on international guests as last December, the resort welcomed long-stay tourists from Scandinavia, Sweden, Australia and Korea. |

“We will attract 80% of our bookings from our website and walk-in guests and the remaining 20% will come from overseas travel agents,” he added.
Mr Piroon said: “Boutique hotels are still few and far between as they are a new concept in Rayong. Most are in Hua Hin which is farther from Bangkok compared to Rayong. Another advantage is Ban Phe Pier with boats to Samet is only 7 km away and Suan Son Beach is easy to reach by car. Food and daily expenses are not as high as on Samet, so we can compete with high-priced accommodation on the island.”
Decorated in a rustic style using bamboo, the 1.5-rai resort features 18 deluxe rooms and one villa for four guests. All rooms offer a sea view rates of Bt4,500++ for a deluxe villa and Bt11,000++ for the large villa.
Samet Island is only 10 minutes by boat, and the resort provides a boat service for Bt2,000 to Bt8,000 depending on the activities such as snorkelling and diving the islands nearby Samet.
The owner of Bari Lamai also runs the ferry from Ban Phe to Samet Island and a guest house in Ban Phe.
